OppLoans bills themselves as a “financial technology platform focused on helping middle income, credit-challenged consumers build a better financial path.” Simply put, they lend money to individuals with bad credit, but endeavor to make the process informative and dignified, never predatory or punitive. 
In 2020, VSA Partners was enlisted by OppLoans to develop a new brand identity, and I co-led the design of the brand system, with an emphasis on clear guidance that would facilitate implementation at scale. This included a new logotype, vibrant colors and graphics, and a photography treatment, all underpinned by a robust strategy that crystallized the brand’s ethos: Championing the ability of struggling consumers to regain some control of their finances.
